Travis Henson

Session guitarist. Live sideman. Solo artist. Songwriter. Band member. Guitar instructor... Travis Henson has touched on all of these titles since moving to Nashville, TN in the mid-90's. An early meeting with Poison frontman, Bret Michaels, led to Travis playing on 3 of Bret's solo albums and 2 movie soundtracks for Bret's production company. Stints with local bands Forty Thieves, Whirlybird and OnlyMoses followed. Soon, artists were asking Travis to play on their albums and write songs with them. He's performed live with Kevin Sharp, Mitch Malloy, and Johnny Vance (Skin&Bones), to name just a few.

In 2006, Travis released Speechless...an instrumental guitar album that showcased his inspired playing, solid songwriting and strong melodic hooks:

"Speechless is a great CD. I was knocked out by the playing and the writing. It’s one of my favorite contemporary instrumental albums and I look forward to your next record."
-David Hungate (legendary bassist for Toto, LA/Nashville session ace)

"It’s such a pleasure to hear a musician that you know has all the chops, but only uses them to enhance the music- not crowd it. Technique is a vehicle for the benefit of the music- not the music being a slave to the technique. In a word- taste! Travis really is a superb player, with a great feel for sounds and approaches. Not many players have that musical vocabulary backed by such ability. This is great music by any standards."

-Jeff Pilson (Foreigner/Dokken/Dio)

In addition, Travis has been covered in magazines 20th Century Guitar and  Guitar World. He's received airplay on nationally syndicated radio programs, as well as internet radio talk shows. Music instrument companies such as Spectraflex, Maxon FX, ModTone Effects, and Kingdom Amplifiers endorse him. Travis shares his gift of music with a wonderful organization, Musician's On Call, and his church. He performs regularly with pop/soul singer-songwriter, Kelly Ann Monahan and tours the country with award-winning country artist, Kevin Sharp.
